PetSavers funds new canine ageing and wellbeing project

PetSavers has provided a Citizen Science research grant to support the development of a novel canine ageing and wellbeing tool to help veterinary professionals and pet owners work together to provide the best care to senior dogs. The grant has been awarded to Dr Carri Westgarth, a Lecturer in Human-Animal Interaction at the University of Liverpool, for her project entitled 'Using citizen science to develop a ‘Canine Ageing and Wellbeing’ tool for use in veterinary practice'.

PetSavers receives a welcome boost from the Debs Foundation

A generous £5,000 donation has been gifted to PetSavers by the Debs Foundation to support the 2018 Clinical Research Projects, awarded last month. The Debs Foundation charitable trust was set-up a year ago, in memory of veterinarian Debbie Gittleson. The Foundation’s aim is to support charities that reflect the causes Debbie believed in and advocated for, in particular those with an emphasis on animal welfare.

PetSavers is pleased to announce the 2017 photographic competition is now open. This year the theme for pictures’ is ‘pets and the four seasons’. The competition is aimed at amateur photographers and entries should focus on capturing their pets in a setting that will reflect the nature of any of the four seasons.

Emergency aid at Countryfile

The PetSavers exhibit stand at the recent Countryfile Live show in August was a great success. Set in the magnificent grounds of Blenheim Palace, the show welcomed a total of 125,808 visitors over the four days. PetSavers estimate that over 100 dog owners visited the veterinary field clinic for free health checks for their dogs and hundreds more stopped to find out about the charity.
